Business Objects - Sr. Consultant

Position Overview:
Alliance Data is seeking an individual with a high level of motivation, positive work attitude and excellent verbal and written communications skills for our Houston Texas consulting practice.  The Business Objects Sr. Consultant must be able to design, develop and implement reports and universes' for our clients utilizing the Business Object Architecture. An important aspect of this position is mentoring junior level staff in both technical and business areas.  As a valued member of our team, you will also have the opportunity to utilize your skills in web and database development, assist in documentation of technical and business processes and work with senior level team members to develop an understanding of Alliance Data methodologies, products and technology. 

 Position Requirements:

• Three plus years experience working in Business Objects Report Writing, including Business Objects Designer, Webi and Reporter.

• Experience with Business Objects Supervisor, Universe design, report publishing, automated report generation and document security. Development of SQL and VBA scripts to support business logic are a plus.
• Experience upgrading and converting from older version of Business Objects  
• Solid analytical, technical and troubleshooting skills; team player with the capability to interface with the business and project managers, take the functional business requirements and convert them to well written intuitive reports.
• Strong communication and end-user interaction skills. Developed documentation skills.
• Experience in supporting Finance and Sales teams a plus.

 Additional Requirements include:

•  U.S. citizenship or Permanent Residency required

• Excellent Oral and Written communication skills.

• Strong work ethic, positive "can do attitude"

• Must have ability to work in a dynamic, multi-tasking environment

• Must have an affinity to software development and technical topics

• Working knowledge of Oracle, SAP and PeopleSoft data structures a plus.

• Must have a thorough, in-depth knowledge of SQL

• Application development experience with Oracle or Microsoft tools is a plus
